The Dive Rite Long Bite Mouthpiece is molded from silicone, which stays flexible in cold water and seals against the mouth without the jaw fatigue a stiffer compound produces over a long dive. The long bite tabs give the teeth more surface to hold.
This mouthpiece comes standard on Dive Rite regulators and fits Dive Rite second stages directly. Colored versions serve a practical purpose beyond appearance: many technical divers fit them to stage bottles as an additional way of labeling gases at a glance.
