The Ocean Reef SAV III Basic is a surface air valve for Ocean Reef integrated diving masks. With the valve open at the surface, the diver breathes ambient air through the mask instead of drawing on the cylinder; closing it before the descent returns the mask to its sealed breathing circuit. The body has a large ribbed grip that turns with gloves on and large vents for easy breathing.
It fits the Neptune III Basic and earlier Ocean Reef IDM models that have a free octopus/SAV port and do not already carry a Professional or Neptune III surface air valve. It threads into the port by hand with no tools. Neptune III System and Package masks are supplied with their surface air valve permanently installed and do not use this part.
